30 Random things from Niagara Falls conference

Hey all. So as you may have already heard, some interesting things happened whilst your SAC was visiting that natural wonder. So I thought I'd post a "30 things" list like I did for when I went to Ottawa. NOTE: Because I value my life, and I'm sure you do too, I cannot post some of the better things.

THE LIST.

1. Ian actually smiling. Enough Said.
2. Learning how to crawl out of a straight jacket. I wrote down the steps. See Below
3. Eating sushi, some of which looked questionable.
4. Then watching Becca, Andi and Ian dive into their Second squid. I ate a piece of the second one. It was better than the questionable stuff in my plate.
5. Walking from table to table of exhibitors and seeing that Me to We was selling t-shirts. Then getting a little too excited when I noticed they were selling the one I really wanted.
6. Singing and dancing to "Hey Baby," "Sweet Caroline," and "Walking on Sunshine"
7. Meeting a black motivational speaker that was actually like the "black person stereotype"
8. Craig Kielburger talking. Enough said. Actually, now that I think of it, just breathing and still running Free the Children and Me to We would be enough for me.
9. Falling asleep during the War Child speaker.
10. Ordering pizza to the hotel room with Ian, Jeff and Kim.
11. The fact that the delivery pizza guy looked like Jesus, except still living with his mum and playing too many video games.
12. Singing Girl Guide songs with Jennifer on the way back.
13. Eating those "Dippin' Dots" things for the first time. It really is the ice cream of the future.
14. Offering to write on the chart paper for a presenter who was presenting on memorization, then getting chided by him for writing too much stuff down instead of just remembering it.
15. Skipping along the falls walkway and taking pictures of it at midnight with Kim and Jenn, and singing and generally acting like a six year old. What? It was late. I was tired. Did I want to sleep? No.
16. FREE STUFF!
17. Talking about defibrillators with one of the exhibitors and how much school boards around us suck.
18. Taking the elevator, realizing it doesn't go up to the 22nd floor, and having to transfer. Transfer elevators.
19. NO PURPLE! Enough said.
20. High fives are banned, so we'll do ELBOWS!
21. Not being able to text in some places because the American towers were interfering.
22. Getting a button that said "Get a life" on it.
23. Aquiring an arcade token with Wolverine's face on it.
24. Watching a media presentation by much music, and laughing when a whole bunch of girls started to scream when new moon clips were being played.
25. Being really tempted to jump up and scream all on my lonesome when Spock, the New Captain Kirk, or Star Trek clips in general were played.
26. When the last Keynote speaker got some kid to get up on stage and call his mom on speakerphone.
27. Just shaking my head when looking at one of the girls' notes for the Free the Children presentation, and seeing the sides covered with "I Love Kielburger."
28. Still having no idea what I want to do to change the world.
29. Buying socks that say LEAD on the sides.
30. Best quotes:

"Reality is what we believe it to be"
"We are not born questioning our greatness"
"Where is the love?"
"Anyone can start a marathon. Only few can finish."
"People change people"
"You can't fly like an eagle if you hang around turkeys"
"Chase the dream, not the competition"
"If you really want something crazy enough, you'll do anything to make it work."
"Get paid to breathe"
"Don't stop just because people tell you it's impossible. The straight jacket was designed to be inescapable. Look what I just showed you how to do!"
"This is the power of We"
"Who's going to change the world? We are."
"We have the influence"
"Sometimes it's good to wear your heart on your sleeve."

And because I promised.

How to escape from a straight jacket

1. Dislocate both your shoulders.

3. Then get your right hand on your left shoulder.
4. Crawl your head under your right arm.
